Ancestral Britain (Coming soon - Delayed by COVID19)
I am an ardent proponent of Ancestral Tourism and for several years was a member of the Scottish Borders Ancestral Tourism Committee. There really is nothing quite like the experience of walking in the steps of your ancestors! However, many overseas visitors just don't know where to begin. From bustling cities which sprang up during the industrial revolution to sleepy countryside and villages that our ancestors once called home, each area has it own personality, traditions and heritage. Ancestral Britain will combine research with helping you plan your trip by identifying the landmarks your ancestors would have known whether that be Castle, Cottage, Courthouse or the Churchyard where they lie at rest. Britain has so much to offer the Ancestral Tourist if you just know where to look!

We will hunt out the places, people, archives, and history societies that can help you uncover even more about their lives. Whether you are looking for the full 'Who Do You Think You Are' experience of a personal genealogist, tour guide or just a suggested itinerary of places to visit, Ancestral Britain will be there to help. If this is of interest to you or would like to be part of, you can contact me at Ancestral Britain here until our website is fine tuned and up and running.
Tours
We can also arrange bespoke family history tours for you to retrace the footsteps of your ancestors throughout Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. For Scottish trips further afield we highly recommend Ian Walker, a fellow genealogist at Borders Journeys. Together we can put together a truly memorable and informative tour of the places your family lived and worked throughout Scotland and the North East of England. Prices on request.
