Extensive Private Archive belonging to the Aynsley-Smith family containing extensive research dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries into many Northumbrian & Borders families some of which include:

A selection of correspondence, staff, and import records dating from WW1 including some interesting German advertising posters.
A collection of letters from Egypt & Salerno during WW2
Describing everyday life and the challenges faced by citizens from the perspective of the Town Major. Copies are also on deposit at Salerno State Archives
The Nicholson collection
Extensive collection of early 20th century letters written by Miss Sarah Nicholson of Norham concerning her extended family and other people of note, together with letters from Edinburgh and America some dating from the 18th century. Also held by Berwick Record Office.
